Shivani case: Cops search for Sharma's wife

A Delhi police team is in Panchkula, Haryana, searching for Madhu Sharma, wife of the prime suspect in the Shivani Bhatnagar murder case, Inspector General of Police (Prisons) R K Sharma, to quiz her regarding his whereabouts, a police official said.

They were unsuccessful in tracing Madhu at her residence, the venue of Thursday's press conference where she alleged that her husband was being 'framed and implicated'.

She had claimed that her husband was 'totally innocent', alleging that 'some influential persons' were keen to frame him and demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation probe to unravel the 'truth'.

The police had raided R K Sharma's residence on August 3 and 4 without success, though the sleuths did confiscate a diary and some other documents.
