Ramadoss to meet Jayalalitha on Tuesday

In less than 12-hours since two Pattali Makkal Katchi Union ministers N T Shanmugham and E Ponnusamy resigned from the Vajpayee cabinet, PMK founder Dr S Ramadoss made his intentions known Monday night by saying that he would be calling on All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam supremo Jayalalitha on Tuesday.

Ramadoss, accompanied by Shanmugham and Ponnusamy, who arrived in Madras Monday night, told mediapersons at the airport that he would be meeting Jayalalitha at 11.30 am on Tuesday.

Ramadoss statement of his meeting with Jayalalitha comes at a juncture when speculations were rife of a possible PMK-AIADMK electoral tie-up.

When asked whether his party had withdrawn support to the government, Ramadoss shot back, 'What does withdrawing of support to the NDA mean?."

Despite the persistent queries from reporters, Ramadoss declined to elaborate on this and the reasons for the decision saying that he would explain all these at a press conference on Tuesday.
