Gehlot shuffles bureaucrats

Effecting its first major administrative reshuffle, Rajasthan's two-week-old Ashok Gehlot government has transferred 20 senior Indian Administrative Service officers, including Additional Chief Secretary (Home) V N Bahadur.

Orders issued late Sunday night places N K Bairwa, currently working as principal secretary in the state revenue and colonisation department, in charge of the home and justice department.

Bahadur has been made the chairman of the Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation.

Similarly, Krishna Bhatnagar will be the new revenue and colonisation department principal secretary. N R Bhasin and Dharma Singh Meena will take over as principal secretary (agriculture) and principal secretary (cooperative) respectively.

Other officials who were transferred included Alka Kala, now posted as secretary (food and civil supply), B P Arya secretary (environment), T Sriniwasan secretary (special schemes organisation) and S Ahmed secretary (forest).
