The Wholesale price-based inflation declined by 0.06 per cent to 4.68 per cent as manufactured food products and textiles became cheaper, but inflation was higher at 5.25 per cent in the corresponding period a for all commodities rose by 0.1 per cent to 201.3 points and it was 192.3 points a year ago.
The government revised the final inflation figure to 3.98 per cent for the week ended April 1 from provisional 3.51 per cent while WPI stood corrected at 198.6 points as against earlier estimates of 197.7 points.
Though inflation has come down marginally, it could raise its head in the coming weeks as petrol and diesel prices have been increased earlier this week, which is expected to push up prices of essential items.
