HCL is No.1 desktop vendor

HCL Infosystems on Friday said it has been ranked by IDC as the top desktop computer vendor in commercial and consumer space.

"As compared to the market growth of 20.69 per cent in 2005-06, HCL has posted a growth of 32.94 per cent," the company said in a release.

The market for consumer desktops grew by 32.63 per cent in 2005-06 but shipments of HCL were up 47.52 per cent.

In commercial desktop PC category, the market growth was 14.58 per cent but the company's shipments grew 25.56 per cent.
