Abhay presents Kamal Haasan in a dual role. Nothing new for the actor who has an astounding track record – all the 20 dual roles he has played have been successful.

Abhay is a novel written by Kamal Haasan many years ago. It also happens to be the precursor of Thomas Harris’ Silence Of The Lambs.

Delhi. Winter. Major Vijay Kumar of the National Security Guard is all set to marry his newscaster girlfriend, Tejaswini.

Vijay Kumar has a demented brother, Abhay, who had been an inmate of a few mental asylums for the last 22 years.

Abhay went in for matricide when he was 12. The family’s many requests to release him are turned down by the asylum authorities, since they think Abhay is unfit for the social circus and is probably dangerous.

… And then Vijay makes the grave mistake of going to the asylum to meet his twin brother to say sorry for not being able to get him out.

Vijay and Tejaswini have no idea that they are responsible for unleashing the hell in Delhi and in their own lives.

Abhay, like his name, is fearless.

A mind without the trappings of etiquette or civil behaviour.

It is the human mind at its most naked.

Imagine!
