As West Bengal goes to polls in five phases starting April 17, pre-poll surveys back the Left Front to retain power.

Amidst the rosy picture, there is one sore point for the Left though -- the rise of the Maoists.

Most of the backward districts, including the three that will vote in the first phase -- Purulia, Bankura, Midnapore West -- are Maoist-dominated.

The Naxals have asked the public to boycott the polls. And going by reports, their call will have an effect on the voter turnout.

How do you think the rise of the Maoists will affect a state the Left has ruled for three decades?
